It all started as trip to NYC in 2006
Our Story
In 2006, Maria-Leena, originally from Denmark, visited New York City for the first time and instantly fell in love. She promised herself she’d build a life here—and after nearly five years, thirteen transatlantic trips, and a few visits to the American Embassy in Copenhagen, she made the move. What started as a Danish blog about being a tourist in NYC, combined with a degree in Tourism Entrepreneurship, led to the creation of The NYC Tours.
Today, nearly 20 years later, Maria-Leena and her team of passionate local guides are here to show you the New York City she proudly calls home.
